Spiritual Resilience In Troubled Times

Where do we turn when our world, personal or communal, crashes in on us? Often churches and members seem ill-equipped to respond effectively with those in crisis. Learning to listen well, to withhold unsolicited advice, and to find ways to sojourn with each other is what the Jesus caregiving model provides.

Special Guest: Virgil Fry

Dr. Virgil Fry is best known as the former executive director of Lifeline Chaplaincy, a hospital-based ministry representing Churches of Christ in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Central Texas. An ACU graduate (B.A., M.S.), he also earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Virgil is a resource for training faith communities and individuals in the arena of spiritual resources in troubled times. He currently is working part-time training spiritual care volunteers in nursing homes and residential facilities in Houston. A widower, he is father of two adult children and 5 grandchildren. He has written two books, plus contributed chapters to several others. He also serves as adjunct faculty for ACU and Pepperdine.
